§ 01 Manifesto · our point of view

On reports. Most SEO reports are artifacts of industry theatre — dashboards designed to demonstrate activity, not outcomes. We build reports that would survive a CFO review.

On content. The bar isn't "did we publish" — it's "did a buyer read it and move." Everything we write is engineered to earn a click, hold attention, and end at a next step.

On AI. AI-generated content was already lapped by the models that made it. The winning move isn't faster content — it's content worth citing.

On us. Small team, senior-only, and deliberately choosy. We take on four new clients a quarter — that cap is how we keep the quality where we'd want it.

2018

Tala starts as a single-shingle consultancy.

One founder, one laptop, one client. No pitch deck. No fancy website. Just a promise to diagnose before prescribing.

2021

First enterprise engagement — 40M URLs.

Architecture overhaul for a top-ten SaaS platform. The case study that still walks us into rooms today.

2023

Fractional SEO Director practice launches.

Built in response to the same question from ten founders in a row: "I need senior SEO leadership without a full-time hire."

2024

AI & GEO search practice.

The search surface changed. We built the first cohesive playbook for earning citations in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews.

2026

Forty active clients. Still small, on purpose.

We've turned down more engagements this year than we've taken. That's the point.
