01 · The story
2011

Kelly Raulerson has been an SEO expert and digital marketing consultant since 2011. Not consulting since 2011 in the loose sense — actually doing the work. Building content strategies, fixing crawl issues, mapping keyword landscapes, and watching what actually moves rankings versus what agencies put in decks.

The result that still gets referenced most: growing a food and lifestyle brand from zero to over one million organic visitors a year. Not paid. Not social. Pure search. Content built around real intent, structured correctly, and compounded over time. That brand was eventually exited — SEO was a core driver of its value.

From there: enterprise SaaS. A platform with tens of millions of URLs, indexation problems that required real architectural thinking, and a team that needed a senior SEO consultant who could think at scale. The kind of engagement most SEO agencies can talk about but few have actually done.

Tala Digital started because the same problem kept showing up everywhere. Companies paying $5,000 to $15,000 a month to agencies for work they never owned. Strategy that lived in someone else’s Notion. Content that stopped the day the retainer stopped. A reporting deck full of rankings with no connection to revenue.

The question was simple: what if instead of doing the work for clients, we built them the system to do it themselves?

That’s Tala. An AI-powered SEO content system and custom WordPress web design studio built for businesses who are done renting access to a process and ready to own one.

02 · What makes this different

Three things we won't
compromise on.

tala-marker
tala-marker
01

We build. You own.

Every content engine is built on your accounts — your Make, your DataForSEO, your Claude API key. If you stop working with us tomorrow, the system keeps running. That’s intentional.

02

Senior thinking. Not junior execution.

The reason to hire an SEO consultant at this level is strategy — knowing which pages to fix first, which keywords actually convert, how to structure content for AI search, and how to build a system that compounds. That’s what we bring. We don’t hand work off.

tala-marker
03

Small. On purpose.

We work with a small number of clients at a time. Not because we can’t scale — because quality degrades when you spread attention too thin. If we take your project, it gets real attention.

FAQ

About
Kelly & Tala.

An SEO consultant is a specialist who analyzes a website’s search performance, identifies what’s preventing it from ranking, and builds a strategy to fix it. At the senior level, an SEO consultant also oversees content strategy, technical architecture, and internal linking — and increasingly, optimization for AI search tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
Look for someone who diagnoses before they pitch. A good SEO consultant will want to see your GSC data, your existing content, and your conversion goals before recommending anything. Be wary of anyone who leads with packages or guarantees rankings — search doesn’t work that way. The right hire is someone who can connect SEO activity to revenue, not just rankings.
A freelance SEO specialist handles the strategy, research, and planning side of search — keyword research, content strategy, technical audits, internal linking architecture, and increasingly AI search optimization. The difference between a freelance SEO specialist and an agency is accountability — with a specialist, you’re working directly with the person doing the thinking, not a junior account manager.
SEO consultant hourly rates typically range from $150 to $500 per hour at the senior level. Monthly retainers at established agencies run $3,000 to $15,000 per month. Tala Digital doesn’t sell hourly consulting or monthly retainers — we sell systems built once that run permanently on your accounts.
